Sheriff’s Detectives Investigating Break-In and Thefts from Neighboring Homes

Lincolnton, NC – Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating thefts from two neighborhood homes on Highway 274 in western Lincoln County.

The first incident occurred at a home in the 300 block of Highway 274. The homeowner reported on August 24, 2018 that a motorcycle parked under an open carport had been stolen overnight. The motorcycle is a blue in color Kawasaki ZX636. The motorcycle has been entered NCIC as stolen.

The second incident was reported on August 25, 2018 when a homeowner in the 400 block of Highway 274 called the Lincoln County Communications Center to report that a pickup truck had been stolen from their residence. The family was returning from vacation and was informed by a neighbor that the truck, a Nissan Frontier, had been stolen.

Deputies were dispatched to the scene and discovered the residence had also been broken into. Deputies made entry into the residence and discovered the keys for the Nissan truck were missing. A check of the property revealed that a 1992 Pontiac Firebird which was not in running condition was also missing. Also stolen from the home were a fire safe, firearms, jewelry and valuable papers. The Nissan Frontier and the 1993 Pontiac Firebird have been entered NCIC as stolen.

If your Crime Stoppers tip leads to an arrest you could receive a reward of up to $1,000.
