Sheriff's Deputies Arrest Winston Salem, NC Robbery Suspect

Lincolnton, NC - Lincoln County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man wanted in Winston-Salem, NC in connection with an attempted armed robbery. The incident occurred at a residence in Winston-Salem on June 22, 2018.

Deputies T. Laverde and J. Burr received information that the wanted person, Roberto Javier Polanco Osorio, 27, of Charlotte, NC was possibly at a residence in the 3200 block of Falcon Ridge Road, Maiden, NC. Osorio was wanted by Winston-Salem, NC Police for felony attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony first degree burglary and was driving a Hyundai Sonata.

Deputies Laverde and Burr along with Major Lee Caskey and Captain Billy Brooks arrived at the residence around 8:30 p.m. on June 27, 2018 and located the vehicle in the drive. Contact was made with the occupants of the residence and four people came out of the home but not Orosio.

Deputies made repeated attempts to get Osorio to come out of the residence and finally entered the home and found him hiding in a back bedroom. He was placed in custody without incident and a cell phone in his possession was seized as evidence along with the Hyundai.

A consent to search was signed by the renter of the residence and a search of the home was conducted but nothing else was located.

Osorio was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and served the two outstanding warrants. He was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center without bond. Osorio was turned over to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office today.(June 28, 2018)
