Lincolnton, NC – Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested one person in connection with several break-ins in the Lincoln Forest subdivision near Highway 150 east of Lincolnton early Monday morning. (November 20, 2017)

The Lincoln County Communication Center began receiving calls about multiple residential burglaries and vehicle break-in that occurred in the 2300 block of Kings Grant Road and 2600 block of Queen’s Road.  During the investigation multiple neighboring residents provided video footage of the suspect in the area.  That information led to the identification of Caleb Wynn Loper, 18, of Leeping Brook Road, Lincolnton, NC who lives in the same neighborhood where the break-ins occurred.

Loper was taken into custody on Tuesday and charged with two felony counts of first degree burglary, felony larceny, felony possession of stolen goods, four felony counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, and one misdemeanor count of breaking and entering.

Loper was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under an $85,000 secured bond.  He will have a first appearance hearing today in Lincoln County District Court.

Investigating officers were Detectives K. Paris and J. Link.
