Five People Facing Additional Drug Charges

On Friday, June 23, 2017, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit charged five people with additional drug offenses following the completion of several open investigations. The investigations are a continuation into methamphetamine sales in western and southern Lincoln County.  

All five subjects charged have been previously arrested in the past six months for unrelated drug offenses. According to detectives four of the individuals are accused of being involved with either selling, delivering, possessing, or conspiring to sell and deliver methamphetamine.

A fifth subject is accused of possessing a controlled substance inside a jail facility. Detectives say that the man hid drugs and a glass pipe in his rectum prior to being arrested for unrelated charges.  Detectives seized the contraband after detention officers located the items during a search at the jail. 

Joshua Thomas Carpenter, 27, of Cedar Grove Church Rd., Vale, was charged with one felony count each of sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, and conspire to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance. He received a $25,000 secured bond. 

Teresa Louise Dellinger, 46, of Cedar Grove Church Rd., Vale, was charged with one felony count each of conspire to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances. She received a $10,000 secured bond.

Megan Elizabeth Campos, 36, of Cedar Grove Church Rd., Vale, was charged with one felony count of conspire to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance. She received a $5,000 secured bond.

Jonita Travis Cornwell, 37, of Louise Ave., Lincolnton, was charged with one felony count of possession of methamphetamine and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She received a $25,000 secured bond. 

Rusty Dewayne Johnson, 28, of Plateau Rd., Vale, is charged with one felony count of possession of a controlled substance in a prison/jail facility and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Johnson has not yet been served and is wanted for these charges.
