The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is led by Captain Tim Johnson and Lieutanant Matt Lykins.
The Criminal Investigation Division of the sheriff’s office is divided into two parts – Major Crimes and General Investigations. The Majors Crimes Unit investigates all major crimes which include homicides, rape, sexual assaults, armed robberies, and other serious felonies. The General Investigations investigates a wide variety of crimes that include property crimes and fraud.
Each weekday the supervisor of the Criminal Investigations Division analyzes each report that was taken by deputies at the sheriff’s office. Depending on the type of crime and the circumstances of the crime each case is then assigned to a detective to work or assigned back to the reporting deputy to investigate.
