Finger Printing Services

Finger Printing Services are available at the Main Office of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office by appointment only.  Call 704-736-8870 to set up an apointment which is normally set on a daily schedule between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.  You must bring valid Identification and the charge is $10.00.  You are encouraged to bring the proper change.

A representative of the Finger Printing Division will be at the Charlie District Office ( East Lincoln Office) on Tuesday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. to complete fingerprints for job applications and concealed carry handgun permits. The office is located at 1889 North NC Highway 16 in the Westport Plaza Shopping Center.   You must also have an appointment made through the main office at 704-732-9050.  For additional information, contact Lt. 50B Weapon Seizure Information

When a District Court Judge or Magistrate orders surrender of firearms,ammunition, or concealed carry and gun permits,  by law these items will be held in the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.   A court order must be obtained before the weapons can be returned to the owner and a criminal check will be made to determine the owner is not a convicted felon.

 Storage Fees for Weapons are as follows:

(1 to 5 weapons- $5.00 per month- $250.00 maximum)( 6 to 10 weapons- $10.00 per month-$500.00 maximum)(  11 to 15 weapons-$15.00 per month-$1,000.00 maximum)(16 or more weapons- $20.00 per month- $1,500.00 maximum)

The fee will have to be paid before the return of the weapons.  The fee must be paid in cash, certified check or money order.      

     

Crime Stopper Reports

  Crimestoppers may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for an anonymous tip that leads to an arrest in any crime. Anonymous tips can be called into the Crimestoppers Tip Line 24 hours per day, seven days per week at  (704) 736-8909.

Unwanted Drugs Drop-off set for July 28
Lincolnton, NC – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office will hold a special unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medicine drop off at the Sheriff’s Office on Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Items that will be accepted include the following:

All Over the Counter Medications

Vitamins and Supplements

Prescription medication

Liquid medications in leak-proof containers

Syringes

Any Medicated Ointments and Creams

And all other unwanted medications

No aerosol cans will be accepted
You can remain anonymous and no questions will be asked when the items are dropped off.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has a permanent drop-off location in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office that is open during normal operating hours. Since the drop-off box was placed in the Sheriff’s Office in September of 2011, 256 pounds of unwanted medications have been destroyed. The program is being offered on a weekend so residents who can’t make it during the week will have a change to discard unwanted medications.
