Neighborhood Complaints Lead to Drug Arrest

May 1, 2012 Lincolnton, NC – On Monday night the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division served a search warrant at 2553 Woodland Hill Trail, Lincolnton in connection with a drug trafficking investigation.

The investigation was spurred by complaints from residents in the area of Woodland Hill Trail who utilized the Narcotics TIP Line at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office complaining about a high volume of traffic and suspicious activity around the residence.

The community complaints gave officers information to begin an investigation that lasted several months.  The Narcotic TIP Line numbers are 704-736-8422 or 704-736-8606.Lincoln County Sheriff David Carpenter said, “We are thankful for the community’s help with information on this and actively encourage more citizens to call with drug information from your area.”

Investigators seized more than 4 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of between $600 and $1200.  A woman and her three children were in the residence but no one was injured.

Andra Lamont Watson, 29, 2553 Woodland Hill Trail, Lincolnton was charged with Possession With the Intent to Manufacture a Controlled Substance Schedule II, Maintain a Dwelling/Vehicle for a Controlled Substance Schedule II, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  He was released on a $12,000 secured bond.

Officers say they are grateful for the support of the community and their continued use of the TIP Line to provide information that assists in removing drug traffickers from our neighborhoods. Do not assume that the deputies already know or that some other neighbor will call.  If the activity keeps occurring, keep on reporting it.  The TIP Line numbers are 704-736-8422 or 704-736-8606.
