Winning Design Selected for Adopt-A-Cop T-shirt
Lincolnton, NC - The Lincoln County Adopt-A-Cop program is celebrating its 21st anniversary in the Lincoln County Schools.  As part of the program students from the county’s elementary schools are asked to participate in designing the logo for the Adopt-A-Cop t-shirt that is distributed to all the students when they attend the Picnic in May.
 Recently Lincoln County Sheriff David Carpenter and Lincolnton Police Chief Rodney Jordan picked the winning design from a group of pictures drawn by the elementary school students.  Aliya Garza Caballero of Battleground Elementary submitted the winning design.   Image
Image  Runners-Up were Allison Farar of St. James Elementary, Brooke Beddingfield of Norris Childers Elementary, Larrissa Vanicek of Pumpkin Center Elementary and Jonathan Fonseca of Catawba Springs Elementary.  Students will be recognized at the May picnic.

 The Adopt-A-Cop Picnic will be held on May 8th from 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at South Fork Park in Lincolnton.  Opening ceremony speakers will be Lincoln County Sheriff David Carpenter and Lincolnton Police Chief Rodney Jordan and other local officials. Students will see displays from area law enforcement and emergency services agencies and other units of interest including Racing teams and inflatable slides.

New Rules When Applying for Gun Permits

 

 

  • Applications for pistol purchase permits may be submitted in person at the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office with payment of the $5.00 fee per permit.  There is no limit on the amount of permits that can be purchased.  There is no limit on the number of gun permits that can be purchase at one time.

 

  • The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, as a convenience and courtesy to the public, is also accepting on-line applications submitted through a private company's on-line application procedure. This option is strictly VOLUNTARY and any handling fee is between the company and the applicant.

 

  • The $5.00 fee is payable for each pistol permit application received.
 
 

Crime Stopper Reports

  Crimestoppers may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for an anonymous tip that leads to an arrest in any crime. Anonymous tips can be called into the Crimestoppers Tip Line 24 hours per day, seven days per week at  (704) 736-8909.
