LCSO Explorers Post of the Year

Lincolnton, NC – The LCSO Explorer Post 700 was awarded the 2011 Explorer Post of the Year in ceremonies held at Cleveland Community College on January 24, 2012.  The Piedmont Council consists of Explorer Posts from 11 surrounding counties.

Each post was asked to submit a letter on why they should be selected for the prestigious award.  Over the past four years the program has actively educated the youth of the community on the exciting career of law enforcement.  Each Explorer has received hands-on training in every area that a law enforcement officer would face including Ride-A-Longs with on duty officers as they performed their duties.

2011 was a busy year for the LCSO Explorer Post 700.  Explorers attended the National Law Enforcement Explorer Conference in Atlanta, Georgia and sent an Explorer toe the FBI Leadership Academy, U S Marshal Leadership Academy, and North Carolina Highway Patrol Student Trooper Program.  Some Explorers also attended the Basic and Advanced Explorer Academies at the North Carolina Justice Academy.  The Post was also involved in a number of community activities including the Apple Festival, Relay for Life, 4th of July celebrations and the Adopt A Cop Program.
