How is the inmates money handled while in jail? How do we give the inmate money?

While the inmate is in our facility, all money will be held for their use in an inmate money account.  This money can be used for commissary, to pay fines or bonds, to pay an urgent bill or for emergency type situations.  Inmates' receive a debt card for any remaining funds in their account upon release.

MONEY ORDERS AND CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

INMATE CASH ACCOUNT:  Family and/or friends may deposit money for the inmate 24 hours a day into a money kiosk (ATM) at the entrance into the sheriff’s office/detention center.  This kiosk does not accept one dollar bills into the bill acceptor. It will only accept denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100.  You may also use credit card or debit card at the money kiosk (ATM) located in the Sheriff’s Office lobby.

OFF SITE FUNDING OPTIONS:

 1.  Inmates may have family and friends utilize the Lobby Kiosk located in the lobby of our facility.

a. Family and friends must have inmate ID number

b. The Kiosk accepts cash, credit and debit cards

c. Cash is only accepted in $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 bills

d. Funds are posted real time to the inmate's account

e. If you are using a credit or debit card You must have a driver's license that matches the billing address of the credit or debit card.

f. The kiosk is available 24/7

2.  GPS:  Inmates may have family and friends send money via Government Payment Service             (GPS)

e. Pay location is 5500

f. GPS accepts credit and debit cards only

3.  Court Money - Inmates may have family and friends send money via Court Money

a. https://courtmoney.com or toll free 800-352-9870

b. family and friends must have inmate ID number

d.  3 digit code IPJ

e.  Pay Location is 5500

f.  Court Money accepts credit and debit cards only

4.  MoneyGram- family and friends can send money by MoneyGram

a. Must have inmate ID number

New Rules When Applying for Gun Permits

 

 

  • Applications for pistol purchase permits may be submitted in person at the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office with payment of the $5.00 fee per permit.  There is no limit on the amount of permits that can be purchased.  There is no limit on the number of gun permits that can be purchase at one time.

 

  • The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, as a convenience and courtesy to the public, is also accepting on-line applications submitted through a private company's on-line application procedure. This option is strictly VOLUNTARY and any handling fee is between the company and the applicant.

 

  • The $5.00 fee is payable for each pistol permit application received.
 
 

Crime Stopper Reports

  Crimestoppers may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for an anonymous tip that leads to an arrest in any crime. Anonymous tips can be called into the Crimestoppers Tip Line 24 hours per day, seven days per week at  (704) 736-8909.
